House Rules

Living in Recovery, Together

Welcome to Remember Wellness. This home was created as a sanctuary for healing — and sanctuaries thrive with structure, respect, and shared responsibility. The following house rules are here to support your recovery and ensure a safe, supportive, and empowered co-living experience for everyone.

If you’re ever unsure about expectations, return to this page or ask a staff member. These are our shared commitments.

🌱 First Month Expectations for New Residents

Your first 30 days at Remember Wellness are an introductory period — a time to build trust, learn the culture of the home, and demonstrate alignment with the values of our community.

During this time:

Curfew is 9:00 PM Sunday through Thursday

Curfew is 11:00 PM Friday and Saturday

Work is the only exception, and must be communicated in advance

Absolutely no overnights are permitted during the first 30 days

• You are expected to follow all house rules without exception

This first month is a time of evaluation — by staff and by the community.

Missing curfew, withholding information, or violating house rules during this period may result in being asked to leave the home.

🕒 Curfew & Overnight Policy

After your first 30 days:

Weekday curfew becomes 11:00 PM

Weekend curfew becomes midnight

• Residents may request one overnight stay, pending staff approval

After 60 days, residents may request up to two consecutive overnights

All overnight requests must be submitted in advance and approved by staff. Approval depends on consistent engagement, compliance, and demonstrated accountability.

🛏️ Daily Living & Shared Spaces

Quiet hours are from 11:30 PM – 6:30 AM.

• Be out of your room and engaging in the community at least five days a week.

No TVs are allowed in bedrooms. This helps promote rest, connection, and healthy routines.

No open flames: Burning candles, incense, or anything else indoors is not allowed.

• Keep personal belongings out of shared spaces.

• Use headphones or keep volume low.

Respect the privacy and confidentiality of your housemates — do not share personal information you learn here with anyone outside the house.

• If someone is in distress, step away rather than escalate.

• All residents must treat each other with respect, kindness, and compassion.

🍽️ Kitchen Etiquette & Expectations

• Clean up immediately after cooking or eating.

• Wipe down all surfaces and avoid leaving crumbs.

• Turn off appliances when done.

• Do not leave items on counters unless in use.

• Return dishes to the kitchen promptly after eating in your room.

• Label freezer items to avoid confusion.

🧺 Laundry Guidelines

• Follow the assigned laundry schedule.

• Don’t leave clothes in machines longer than needed.

• Be mindful of laundry-related noise near bedrooms.

• Don’t move others’ items — notify staff if there’s a conflict.

💊 Medication, MAT & Treatment Oversight

All medications must be disclosed and approved.

Notify staff before starting any new medication.

• Residents must provide treatment provider info at intake.

• Staff may require approval of treatment plans and providers.

• Updates from providers may be requested.

Engagement in your recovery plan is required — this includes setting and pursuing recovery goals.

MAT Policy:

• Shot-based MAT (e.g. Sublocade, Vivitrol) is preferred.

• Oral-based MAT may be allowed with oversight and staff approval.

• MAT is accepted with transparency, documentation, and accountability.

• No smoking indoors — use designated outdoor areas only.

🤝 Recovery Meeting Attendance

Active participation in outside recovery meetings is a vital part of your recovery journey at Remember Wellness. These meetings create consistency, connection, and long-term support beyond the home.

  • Residents with less than 6 months of sobriety are required to attend at least 4 recovery meetings per week.

  • Residents with 6 months or more are required to attend at least 2 recovery meetings per week.

  • Acceptable meetings include AA, NA, SMART Recovery, etc or other abstinence-based support groups.

Proof of attendance is required:

  • You must collect a signature at each meeting you attend.

  • Signatures are submitted weekly at the Sunday house meeting.

  • We provide meeting sheets, but any piece of paper with dates, meeting names, and signatures is acceptable.

Staff may review attendance and may ask questions about your meeting involvement. The purpose of this requirement is to help build a consistent and engaged recovery lifestyle — not to penalize, but to support.

🧘 Participation & Recovery Programming

• House meetings every Sunday are mandatory.

• Attend at least one recovery-based outside meeting per week.

• Complete monthly check-ins during the first house meeting of each month.

• Residents are expected to fully engage in recovery planning and programming, especially when not working.

💬 Communication, Boundaries & Conflict

WhatsApp is our main communication tool — join the group chat upon move-in.

Message the group every time you leave and return to the house.

• Example: "work" when leaving, "home" when back

• WhatsApp is also a space for support, check-ins, and encouragement.

• Respect boundaries and resolve conflict calmly or with staff support.

• What is shared in house meetings stays in house meetings.

• Do not share private information or details about the home with former residents.

• Report any inappropriate behavior or boundary violations to staff immediately.

🔐 Visitors & Relationships

Visitors are allowed after 30 days with a completed Visitor Request Form.

• Visitors may not enter bedrooms and must be sober and respectful.

• Children may visit daily between 9 AM and 8 PM.

No romantic or sexual relationships are permitted between residents in the same house, with staff, or with anyone in leadership.

• Romantic relationships with residents of a different Remember Wellness home are permitted but must not interfere with the program.

💰 Rent & House Contributions

• Rent is due at the weekly house meeting.

• Start at $100/week, increasing by $25 every three months, capped at $250/week.

• Contribute $5–$10/month for shared household supplies.

• Use separate Cash App transactions for rent and house fund.

🛑 Safety & Prohibited Items

Weapons are not allowed on the property. Staff may determine if an item is considered a weapon.

No drug paraphernalia or illegal substances.

• Keep exits clear; do not tamper with smoke detectors or safety equipment.

• Report suspicious activity to staff.

• All house policies are designed to create a safe, supportive, recovery-focused environment.

⚖️ Violations & Accountability

Violations of house rules will be addressed in alignment with Remember Wellness policy. Residents may be asked to leave if their behavior presents an immediate risk to themselves or others. Minor issues may result in a warning or staff-led intervention. Our goal is restoration, not punishment — but accountability is non-negotiable.

❤️ Final Word

Remember Wellness is more than a program — it’s a community built on integrity, safety, and mutual support. These house rules are the foundation of that structure. When we each uphold them, we create the conditions for real healing.
